Shipping & Customs FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

International Shipping

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. We work with experienced carriers to ensure your artwork arrives safely, no matter where you are located.

How quickly do you ship after purchase?
Artworks are shipped within 1-2 business days after payment confirmation. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships.

How long does international shipping take?
Delivery times vary by destination. Typically, shipments to the US take 3-8 business days, to Europe 5-14 business days, and to other international destinations 9-20 business days. These are estimates and may vary depending on customs processing.

How are artworks packaged?
All artworks are carefully packaged with protective materials appropriate to the piece. Paintings are wrapped in glassine paper, secured with corner protectors, and packed in sturdy boxes with cushioning material. Framed works receive additional protection.

Can I track my shipment?
Yes, you will receive a tracking number once your order ships. You can use this to monitor your shipment's progress.

Customs & Duties

Who is responsible for customs duties and taxes?
The buyer is responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, and any other fees charged by your country's customs authority. These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost.

How much will customs duties cost?
Customs duties and taxes vary by country and are calculated based on the declared value of the artwork. We recommend checking with your local customs office for specific rates. Many countries have reduced or zero duty rates for original artworks and antiques.

What information is declared on customs forms?
We declare all shipments accurately with the artwork's purchase price, a description of the item (e.g., "19th century oil painting"), and country of origin when known. We cannot mark items as gifts or undervalue shipments.

Will my package be held at customs?
Occasionally, customs authorities may hold packages for inspection or to collect duties. If this happens, you may be contacted directly by the carrier or customs office with instructions for payment or documentation. We're happy to provide any additional information needed to facilitate clearance.

Returns & Cancellations

What is your return policy?
Due to the antique and vintage nature of our artworks, we do not accept returns or cancellations except in cases covered by insurance (such as damage during shipping). We encourage you to review all images and descriptions carefully before purchasing. Learn more about our gallery and approach to selling European art.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?
Please inspect your package upon delivery. If there is visible damage to the packaging, note it with the carrier and contact us immediately with photos. All shipments are insured, and we will work with you to resolve any damage claims.

What if the artwork is significantly different from the description?
While we describe all artworks accurately based on the information available to us, if you believe an artwork is significantly misrepresented, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with detailed photos and explanation. We will review each case individually.
