Maria Röhl (1801-1875) was a distinguished Swedish portrait artist and court painter to the Swedish royal family. Studied under neoclassical master Léon Cogniet in Paris. Created hundreds of portraits of aristocrats, writers, and intellectuals. Works featured in Swedish Nationalmuseum and major collections worldwide.
