Bucolic rural scene representing a church and village homes next to a body of water, set in a hilly landscape with dispersed villages and a mountain range visible in the distance. Parishioners are gathered at the church’s main entrance. An elegant portrait of an unidentified woman. French painting was done between 1800 and 1810. She is wearing a blue velvet dress and a white "turkish" turban, following the prevailing fashion trends during the reign of Napoleon I. Unsigned work, this painting without a wooden stretcher presents some loss of paint particles on the margins of the canvas (see photos), easily repairable.
