Narcisse Diaz de la Peña (attributed) - Diana and Cupid - Circa 1850

Narcisse-Virgile Diaz de la Peña, (born 1808, Bordeaux, France- died November 18, 1876, Menton), French painter and lithographer of the group of landscape painters known as the Barbizon school who is distinguished for his numerous Romantic depictions of the forest of Fontainebleau and his landscape fantasies with mythological figures. 

Artist : Attributed to Narcisse-Virgile Díaz de la Peña (1807-1876).
Signed in lower left corner with monogrammed letters: N.D., plaque on frame with name of painter “DIAZ”.
Medium: Oil on canvas.
Condition: Very good condition.
Dimensions: 32.5 x 21.5 cm. / 12 3/4 x 8 1/2 in.
Frame: 50 x 40 cm. / 19 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. Original wood frame, gilt. A few small imperfections.
Origin: France.
