Endre Komaromi-Kacz - Windmill by the River

Beautiful Belgian landscape with figures next to a windmill.

Endre Komaromi-Kacz (1880-1969), was a Hungarian landscape painter. He began his artistic studies under Ede Balló at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, and subsequently in Munich under Simon Hollósy. From 1903 to 1907 he studied at the Benczúr Masters School of Painting, and made a longer study trip with a state scholarship in the Netherlands and Belgium. He later worked in Budapest and in the last years of his life he painted the Balaton landscape in Balatonalmádi. From the 1910s he was one of the permanent exhibitors of the Műcsarnok and the National Salon, and won several awards.

He had a collection of exhibitions in the National Salon in 1918, and in 1924 in the Műcsarnok. Several works of his are found in the Hungarian National Gallery collection.
