Amédée Henri Langlois was born in Paris on November 10, 1853. Coming from a well-to-do family, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under Louis Bonnat and Ferdinand Hubert. Painter of portraits, landscapes, still lifes and historical and mythological themes, he regularly participated in the Paris Salon starting in 1877.
He died in Paris on March 30, 1925, at the age of 72.
