R. Hermans - Dutch Windmills - Circa 1880

The Hague School. This superb impressionist painting represents a summer landscape with windmills on a natural body of water in the south of Holland. In the foreground, a wooden dinghy rests among white-flowered water lilies. The sky and clouds are flawlessly executed.
