Auguste Brazier – The Swallows – 1887

Oil on canvas painting depicting some swallows flying over a large body of water. Signed and dated 1887, the year of the painter's death, this painting is probably one of his last works. The painter's choice of this subject matter and his death shortly thereafter does seem to have some symbolic component.
