Portrait of Claude Laussedat - Circa 1820
Portrait of Claude Denis Laussedat, merchant and member of the Auvergne bourgeoisie, born in Riom (Puy-de-Dôme) on May 11, 1778, son of a master shoemaker. He died in the same town on December 16, 1947. Oil on canvas painting by an anonymous artist, professionally relined and restored. Exceptional quality. A label on the back indicates the identity of the sitter, although the birth year is incorrect, according to his official birth record. Restoration period frame.
