Portrait of a bourgeois or aristocratic woman during the reign of Louis XV. She is shown in three-quarter view, seated in an armchair, wearing an elegant red-orange dress with blue ribbons and lace cap. She holds a fan on her lap. Anonymous French School work produced circa 1760-70. Oil on canvas, restored and relined. Mounted in a 19th century wooden and gilded stucco frame.
