Joseph Laulié was a French painter of portraits, still lifes and landscapes, born April 15, 1928 in Ustaritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). He was a pupil of André Trébuchet then of Jean Metzinger in 1951. He then entered the School of Fine Arts in Paris, student of Eugène Narbonne and Roger Chapelain-Midy. Settling on the Basque coast where he lived and worked, he exhibited in Paris at the Salon de la Jeune Peinture (1957), as well as the Salons d'Automne and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, of which he was a member. He had his first solo exhibition in Paris in 1975, later exhibiting in Bayonne, Mont-de-Marsan and Bordeaux. In 1982, he received a silver medal at the Salon des Artistes Français.

A painter of poetic reality, he freely interpreted light in his personal compositions.
