Oil on canvas representing a street of Montmartre in Paris. Signed and dated in 1974.
Jean-Pierre Poulet, French painter of landscapes and still-lifes, was born in Givors (Rhône) on September 22, 1926. After his studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, he became a drawing teacher in France, then in Morocco. In 1971, he left teaching, frequently travelled and stayed abroad, devoting himself to painting. He exhibited in numerous art galleries from 1968 to 1992.
Jean Poulet died in Malestroit (Morbihan) on 12 August 2006.
