Portrait of an Officer of the Legion of Honour – Circa 1815



This canvas represents the portrait of a distinguished civilian gentleman in a profile pose. He wears with pride a French Officer of the Legion of Honour medal. According to the medal’s unique characteristics, it dates to the First Empire and is of the third type, awarded from 1st March 1808 to 1813.
