Attractive composition representing some peaches, tomatoes and yellow cucumbers in the foreground and a bouquet of flowers and a wicker basket with bunches of grapes in the background. This superior quality oil on canvas painting was exhibited at the Paris Salon in its 1885 edition under the title "Chrysanthemum".
Jacques Delanoy, French decorator and painter, was born in Paris on September 4, 1820. A pupil of Dussance, Aclocque and Ferrey, Jacques Delanoy exhibited still lifes and landscapes in Paris between 1845 and 1883. He died in Paris on the 8th August 1890. He is the father of Hippolyte Pierre Delanoy, painter of still lifes, portraits, genre and historic scenes.
