Portrait of a Woman with a Lace Bonnet – French School, c. 1840

Categories: , ,

Remarkable portrait of a woman under the reign of Louis Philippe (1830-1948). French school of the 19th century. The woman is represented sitting in an armchair with a gray-blue day dress. A white lace collar and hat, attached by a matching satin bow, complete the outfit. The portrait was painted by an anonymous artist but presents a beautiful execution and exceptional quality. This painting was cleaned and restored in 2018, allowing it to recover its original colours and brightness. Original frame and canvas.
